Do we know anything about who created the source, such as  their occupation or their relationship to the event?

DATE

When was the source produced? How does its content help make sense of it?

AUDIENCE

For whom was the source originally created?

MESSAGE

What did the author wish to communicate to the audience?

How would that audience be likely to respond?

AGENDA

What was the author's reason for producing the source?

Do they have a particular point of view?

NATURE

What type of source is it? How does this affect its content (eg. a diary is meant to be for private purposes.)

TECHNIQUES

How does the author show their point of view in the language or imagery they use?
